The Cost of Policing is an interactive memorial for victims of police brutality and militarization. Viewers are invited to text in to the hashtags across the figure’s chest. They then receive a text back with the person’s name, story, and the legal repercussions for the police officers or units involved. The intent of the project is to ask viewers to examine stories of police brutality consider the ways in which policing in America is broken.
